How do I group my order into one parcel with Smart Send?
When orders are imported into Smart Send, depending on the status, they could be grouped together into one parcel. Orders can also be split into multiple boxes if required. In this guide we’ll cover:
Grouping Two Orders
To group orders into one parcel, they will need to have the same address. To easily see which orders can be grouped together, navigate to the 'Group Items' tab at the top.
Within this tab, if you have any, you will see the list of orders which can be grouped.
Click on the ‘Group Items’ button at the bottom of the listed orders that you want to group.
When you choose to group items the Group Parcels panel will appear for you to confirm the weight and dimensions of the box. The weight of the box is calculated for you but you may need to amend the dimensions. Make sure these details are correct to avoid any additional charges by the couriers.
Click on ‘Send Together’.
Once you have confirmed this, your orders will move out of here and into either the ‘Ready’ or ‘Not Ready’ tabs.
Grouping More than Two Orders
If you have more than two orders going to a single address you can group these into as many boxes as you wish. To do this, navigate to the ‘Group Items’ tab.
Click on the ‘Group Items’ button at the bottom of the listed orders that you want to group.
The Group Parcels panel will appear. There are two tabs at the top, by default the ‘Group Together’ will be shown. Go ahead and click on the second tab ‘Use Multiple Boxes’.
Using the checkboxes, choose the items you want to group together. Underneath the question ’What would you like to do?’ you will see a text link, this will change depending on how many items you select. If you choose more than one, the link will change to ‘Group Together’. Go ahead and click on this.
This will place the items you have chosen into one box.
Once you’re happy with your choices, go ahead and confirm the weight and dimensions for the additional boxes. Click on ‘Confirm and Create’. Once you have confirmed this, your orders will move out of here and into either the ‘Ready’ or ‘Not Ready’ tabs.
Double check the orders to make sure the weight and dimensions are correct before sending. This means you can avoid any additional charges by the couriers.
Splitting Orders
If you have an order which needs to be sent in more than one box you can do this by clicking on ‘Parcel Options’.
On the order, click on the ‘Parcel Details’ section. The order panel will appear showing the parcel contents. Within the ‘Items in this parcel’ section click on the text link saying ‘Parcel Options’.
You can now choose as many boxes as you need by choosing a number from the dropdown.
Choosing to split your order into more than one box will duplicate, by default, the weight and dimensions. Make sure these details are correct for each box to avoid any additional charges by the couriers.
Creating A Rule
If grouping and/or splitting orders is something you’ll be doing often, then it may be worth creating a rule. Visit our Rule Manager Guides on how to automate this process.
