The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) came into effect on December 13th, 2024, and it’s set to change how businesses and online sellers in the UK handle selling non-food products to the EU and Northern Ireland.

We're working with Obelis and Webinterpret to make GPSR compliance as easy as it should be. Plus, you can get 10% off GPSR services with Webinterpret, exclusive to Parcel2Go.
First, let’s break it down: The General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) is a legal framework introduced to ensure the safety of all non-food products sold within the European Union (including Northern Ireland).
Designed to meet the challenges of today’s digital and global marketplace, GPSR:
Protects consumers with new safety standards.
Supports businesses and online sellers with clear guidelines to maintain compliance.
Strengthens enforcement against unsafe or non-compliant products.
It’s more than just a new set of rules - it’s about creating trust and confidence between sellers and buyers.
In short, If you’re a seller shipping products from the UK to the EU or Northern Ireland, GPSR applies to you.
If you’re a business shipping products to the EU or Northern Ireland from the UK, GPSR requires you to ensure product safety through proper labeling, appointing an EU-based Responsible Person (if applicable), and more.
Even if you’re not running a business but are selling through online marketplaces, you’ll still need to adhere to GPSR practices.
The likes of Amazon, eBay and Etsy all ask for a few key details to meet GPSR requirements when products are being listed.
This includes:
The manufacturer’s name and contact details.
If the manufacturer isn’t located in the EU or NI, you must provide details of an EU-based Responsible Person or entity, including their name and contact information.
Product identifiers such as photos, model numbers, and type.
Product safety and compliance details, including warnings and safety information, which should be provided in the local language. These can be included on labels or in product manuals.
The CE marking, only if required by the applicable regulations for your product.
We’re here to make GSPR easy and keep your shipping to the EU simple.
